LENJO VALERY SPEAKS:
8 Reasons to Prove that Africans behave like freed people instead of free people.
✔️ We behave as if we owe our lives to someone. For generations we haven’t accepted the fact that life is a gift and anything we do is for ourselves and no one else.
✔️ We are always calling ourselves freedom fighters or liberation fighters or something similar to that as if someone was holding our freedom. Honest Politics is more than us, creativity is more than us, even unity is more than us. We enjoy putting leaders down only to repeat the same mistakes as the former.
✔️ Critical and Strategic thinking is more than us. Reason why we rush to fight the moment something is said that is controversial to our understanding. Let’s use our head and not our hearts
✔️ We love pointing fingers at others for the things that happen to us. If it’s not the government, it is the Whitman or the devil.
✔️ We are always feeling threatened and cling to funny believes for redemption. In one family, half are using talisman(juju) for protection while the other half are using religious Sacramentals for protection.
✔️ We are always asking for favors from others, we forget the laws of nature works same for everyone. We rush to borrow the least moment we see our brother/ sister with money. We are always having financial problems.
✔️ Even when we Succeed, we want to show to our community we have arrived by lavishing and wasting the same money we heartily worked for. Consequently our children surfer and hence the rat race restart from generation to generation.
✔️ Just like how a fowl freed from its cage or a dog unchained always return to the master’s home at the end of the day, that is how our youths are flooding the embassies for greener pastures abroad after graduation.
10 Ways Free People Think and Do.
1. Free people Think before they act.
2. Free people accept their responsibilities and improve.
3. Free people invest their resources and expand their wealth without fear of death since they believe life will continue after they die and the people they trust will continue the good works after them.
4. Free people dialogue when there is difference of views and opinions and later agree for the peace of their community.
5. Free people believe in themselves, in their country men and associate with others for the growth of their country.
6. Free people empower their leaders and do what is right according to their constitution.
7. Free people are honest and make sure their words are unwavering in any condition.
8. Free people consume their own produce and ameliorate them with respect to standards of the society.
9. Free people have patience, focus and endurance in any endeavor they undertake.
10. Free people do to others what the want others to do to them.
All in all, “What you give is equal to what you get”. We are born free. Let’s remain Africans and add value to this world because it belongs to us. I am not pointing fingers at anyone but let’s conscientise. We need an agressive orientation in this continent to enable change. The time is now.
